I appear to have discovered a bottle of 8 yr blend of Haig and Haig that matches up to pictures of others from the 1940's. The question i have is what does it mean when the scotch has turned blackish?

If the whisky has a black appearance then it's been contaminated by iron and DON'T DRINK IT. It will have a very bitter taste but will have a nasty effect on your stomach. You can take the iron out it if you want but you'll have to open the bottle
If it's a bluey green then it's been contaminated with copper and could be drunk but I'd not advise it. |
