I think most of you would agree Balvenie 21 is great stuff. However, I cannot make a bottle of that last more than 3 days. So to be a bit more economical, I have been grabbing up Madeira 17. IMHO it's not the same caliber as the Portwood, but I think 21 lovers would like it. I will let the pros describe it, but remember once it's gone it's gone. If you haven't checked it out yet, I suggest you do so before it becomes a collectors item.
. Btw I think I'm on my 5th bottle - I like it.Of course I'd appreciate others thoughts. |

Yes, Madeira Cask is good stuff. Unfortunately, it isn't exactly an "inexpensive" bottle of whisky itself.
Alas, I have finished off my bottles of both the 21yr Port Wood and the 17yr Madeira Cask.

The Balvenie 21 year Portwood remains one of my top pics, but it is pricey. I do like the Madeira 17 year, but wanted to share that last time I tried the DoubleWood, it really caught my attention. I have had it in the past, liked it, but this time, it was really great - and it's much less expensive.
