My wife and I enjoy Macallan's 12 yr single malt scotch - she is a celiac, and cannot tolerate wheat, barley [aka malt] and rye. She has not had a reaction to Macallan's - has anyone had problems with other single malts? We had been told that if nothing is added back into the scotch after distillation, it is gluten free.

I have heard that the gluten does not carry over the distillation process, therefore not present in the scotch which...... supposedly means it can be safely consumed as part of a gluten free diet. However, please don't take my word for this - have you talked to your doctor about this? In your situation I would be 110% sure and would definitely go by Doc's advice!
