Default Strathisla?

Whats the review on Strathisla 12yr?
I know its by Chivas Brothers, and I really don't like their stuff...but have heard good things about this one, since its a single malt and not a blend.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

It is very good. To me it is a lighter style Speyside whisky. Nice malty nose, slightly sweetish on the palate, very clean and well balanced. Some of the more interesting bottlings (all better than the official bottling) I've had of Strathisla are from independent bottlers. The G&M bottlings I've had have been the best, which I attribute to G&M's demanding barrel specifications and selection being much more stringent than Diageo's. Let us know what you think.
