Default Aberlour Abunadh Silver Label Special Edition

I'll see if there's a chance I can obtain a value. Because of the holiday weekend, might take a bit longer than usual. In the meantime, if could post some images, that would be great.

Using a Google search I found it in a couple of stores in Scotland with a price in the 200-240 Euro range roughly $300-350 US!

I also googled the bottle but couldnt find it, there was a special edition before which i believe is the one you have found, but this one only became available last month. I shall post up some pictures off the bottle. Thanks for your replies

Default Silver A’bunadh

Scotthanky - we found out from our Aberlour contact that your bottle is a limited edition called Silver A’bunadh. It was bottled at the same time, and with the same whisky that was in the original solid silver label A’bunadh which was released as a millennium special bottling. Unfortunately we were not able to obtain a value - keep in mind that it is only worth what someone will pay for it. However, just as an FYI, this Silver A’bunadh edition sold out within days of it being released. You can always try mctears.com or bonhams.com for a value and if you do so, please be sure to list it here! All the best, Jojo

Default How Much is this Bottle Worth? - Aberlour Abunadh

Today, I found this bottle still for sale at The Whisky Exchange in London. Visit http://www.thewhiskyexchange.com to see. Sukinder is selling this bottle for 191 GBP Sterling, ~$275.00. Also, the internet states that 2000 bottles were released. I'm trying to ascertain the number of bottles being 37. If this is a twelve year old whisky, the number of bottles that a cask will yield at this age is ~300, 700ml European bottlings per cask or about 7 casks for the 2000 bottle release, assuming this release was aged in hogshead casks. If all were bottled at the standard U. S. bottling of 750ml ( which is unlikely since most is sold to the European market ) then the number of casks bottled would be about 8 casks, or ~256 bottles per cask; again, assuming hogshead casks; this allows for 2% evaporation per year under British law. If this were a 50-Year-Old Scotch, then 37 bottles would be likely from one cask. The front of this particular bottle should show close to the bottom of the label...No. ***x. Your best bet at this time is eBay as there is only one auction house in the U. S. that sells whisky at auction and that is Christies in New York. I doubt you will yield much more than what the bottle is selling for in Europe.

A second thought is that only 37 bottles were released to the North American market.

Another option is contacting thewhiskyvault.com as they will give you a price at which they will purchase it, with you having to cover the costs (possibly including duties) to import it back to the UK to deliver it to them. I am selling two Rare and Select bottles of Hillside Glenesk 1969 to them later this summer and the price they offered me was more than reasonable, and only slightly less than similar bottles I could find elsewhere on the internet. Send them pictures and a description of the bottle and any box or other wrapping that may have come with it.

Good luck.

Default Silver A'bunadh

The whisky being talked about here is not the Silver Label A'bunadh but a new 2010 release called Silver A'bunadh and it was a limited edition of just 37 bottles, see the editors comments. It was pure luck I walked into the shop as they put 4 bottles on the shelf, the whole edition sold out in days. I guess this is probably the rarest A'bunadh so far to be released and as to value that's what ever someone will pay for it.
