Default Bells's 12 Year Old

I recently aquired several bottles of Bell's "Royal Vat Blended Scotch Whisky" 12 Years Old, in the distinctive green bottles. I know they are fairly old because they still have the unbroken federal tax stamps marked NY-I-313. Can you tell me anything about them?
I asked this question ubder Bell's, but probably didn't do it right.
