Hey all, I'm a new member and this is my first post.
We took a road trip down to Lynchburg and we did the JD Tour. What a great time! I've always been a huge Jack drinker but my appreciation for it was renewed. The taste testing at the end of the tour was phenomenal. They started with Gentleman's.. which I've never really liked but could appreciate the taste. Then we moved on to Old No. 7... classic. They finished it off with the single barrel and I've fallen in love. I had no idea that a whiskey could taste so good!
We did the Jim Beam distillery tour at the end of our trip and it didn't have the same feel as Jack did. Jack felt like home. Jim seemed too industrialized, too commercially focused. Don't get me wrong, it was great to see how it differed but it wasn't the same.
While we were there, we bought White Rabbit, the 160th, Scenes 7 & 8, and Master Distiller No. 1. I'm thrilled to have a collection growing and even more impressed that my whiskey-hating girlfriend has become a fan!
We stopped in Memphis and did a tasting of the Sinatra Select.. what a drink. I'd love to get this bottle into my house. Does anyone know where they sell this rare find? They were out of it at the distillery....
