Question What's this Whisky Worth?

A friend gave me a bottle of (possibly) 1968 White Label Dewars Blended Scotch Whisky (I am assuming it is 1968 - Internal revenue sticker has serial number and NY-I-68). Bottle is unopened 4/5 Quart. 86.8 Proof.
Any ideas on what this is worth? Thanks.

What you have is a standard brand - still widely available today - which means there's not much added value.

jah4i,

The number you indicated on the Red Federal Tax Strip does in fact indicate a dating of 1968,...BUT, this only indicates which year the stamping license was issued to the Distillery/Bottler or Importer.

For more information on dating your bottle, please upload some clear photos of the bottle in question and we'll get you the information that you need.

Cheers,

I reckon that the date will be 1968, in those days the bottlers had to pay for the stamps before they were shipped across to Scotland so there was a great deal of money tied up on them. They would bottle and ship as soon as possible after they had received them.
