In my previous post I had found a bottle of old Black and White in this house I have purchased. Today turned up two more old unopened scotch bottles.
King's Ransom "Round the World Blend". The bottles look very similar. One still has an old wire net around it and actually has a label on the back that mentions "Louisville, Ky" where the other one is missing the wire and that label. Other than that they are exactly the same as far as i can tell. Like my other post, I would like some help aging these bottles and some guidance as to whether I should drink them at top speed or not

lhmill,
Looks like you got some more 60's bottles here...these have not survived so well though - Not too uncommon for bottles of this age, with a "cork-plug"! With too much air in the bottle, whisky will actually start to oxidize... Giving your drink a rather rusty "iodine"-like taste: They may still be good to drink, but I would approach that with a bit of caution. If you decide to try these, sniff the contents and see if they smell ok, then try a small sip...They might need a bit of airing out, so a dash of cold water added to the shot might be helpfull. Thanks again WC. I really appreciate you answering and putting an end to all my guesses.
