Default Age of White Horse Whisky

Hi Walter

Thanks for your help in getting the photos attached.

Hi I have a bottle of 13 fluid ounce bottle of The Old Blend Whisky - White Horse Whisky batch # 231626. (by appointment to the Late King George V)

This bottle actually comes in a wooden box with 3 glasses. I was wondering if you could tell me the age and is this collectable?

There is some evaporation down to where the DA No 231626 is on the bottle. The bottle has never been opened.

Regards
Tania

Default White Horse drink set

Tania,

That's a nice set you have there..Rare to find one complete.

Based on the labels on the bottle, this would have been produced between 1936-41.
Most likely made for the UK market, rather than export, as it has a screw-cap
instead of a Spring-cap, and has a foil capsule which would have been temporarily
discontinued in the early 1940s.

The level of the whisky is unfortunately very poor, and this has allowed alot of air
to enter the bottle...this may affect the taste quite a bit.

Very nice collectable item though...it would be hard to find another!

Cheers,
Walter C Hurst

Default White horse drink set

Hi Walter,

Thanks for your reply. It really is unfortunate about the level of evaporation.

But it really is a nice looking set.

I have been trying to find information on this set for a while and only came across this site last week. It is very informative and I have enjoyed reading what people have to say and the stories of how people obtained their bottles.

Though with all of my searches I have yet to come across another one like mine. So it was nice to receive your comments.

Do you know what something like this set would be worth (approximately).

Regards
Tania

Default White Horse box set

Tania,

Hard to put a price on something so unique sometimes...

Alot of what an item is worth, simple depends on who wants to buy it.
Personally, my opinion on this is that it should be valued at somewhere
between $100-$200 USD as a complete set the way it is now.

If you could find a collector that favored White Horse collectables,
you might be able to get even a bit more, but I do not know any off-hand
that would necessarily collect this item.

Personally, I think it's a great display item and would look great in my
corner curio cabinet!

We should talk about it, of you decide you want to sell it...

Cheers,

Wouldn't you think that this bottle with the case and the two glasses would be worth more than a plain old bottle of White Horse.?
Just my two cent's worth.
