I did some work at a customers house, and she gave me a bottle of VO for a tip. The bottle is unopened and the seal is dated 1976,and the whiskey was bottled at 6 years of age. The question is this whiskey still ok to drink? Thanks for all replies.

Nice gift! Yes, your VO should be just fine (assuming it was stored properly). Just keep in mind that while it certainly has some years under its belt (or should I say under its cap...) once it was bottled, it stopped maturing. This means that you still have a 6 year old bottle of VO. All and all - it's a very nice tip - Enjoy!
