Lightbulb Urgent Help Please!!! Tennesee Whiskeys

hi,
I'm an Aussie doing a TAFE course, and we are currently studying alcohol, specifically Tennessee whiskeys.

My assignment states that there are three different brands of Tennessee whiskey which I must identify, but all the info I have been able to gather says that there are only two (Jack Daniels and George Dickels).

Can anyone help me find the third please?

Question Tennessee Whiskey brands

Sorry man! I only know of George Dickel's & Jack Daniel's! But, now I'm really curious - let me know the third Tennessee brand when you eventually find out!

The third one is "Gentleman Jack".. Although it is from the makers of "Jack Daniels", it still is a stand alone brand. And a good one too.

Exclamation Prichard's Distillery in Tennessee

Prichard's Distillery is in Tennessee - about 100 miles south of Nashville (near the TN / AL border) in the small town of Kelso. They produce rum here (yes, I said RUM!) - no whisky or bourbon.

Default Pritchard's Double Barreled Bourbon

This has been produced in limited quantities - I have a bottle on the table as I write this. Cannot vouch for the quality (as yet)

Smile Sweet Lucy

Pritchards Distillery also makes what they call Sweet Lucy. It is a bourbon based liqueur. It has a very smooth taste, similiar to Southern Comfort. This is produced exclusively by Pritchards.

Default Pritchards

Terribly sorry to hear that there's a limited quantity of the Pritchards. I just tasted it as part of the American Pride flight at The Brandy Library in Manhattan and it blew me away. I'm a fan of bourbons and American whiskeys, but have recently concluded that they come on very strong compared with Irish whiskeys and Scotch whisky. The Pritchards had depth and lots of subtlety. I'm going to have to order some before it's all gone!!

Default There are only 2 whisky brands

Sorry to let you down but there are only 2 brands in Tennessee not 3. Besides all but 3 counties are still dry. That doesn't leave much room for new brands. Gentlemen Jack is still part of Jack Daniels. The single barrel from Jack Daniels is absolutely amazing and is a must try! Cheers!!

In Tennessee probably the best Double Barreled Bourbon id Pritchard's. It is an excellent bourbon and the third of the group.

Default Pritchard's Spirits

Pritchard's Double Barreled Bourbon is a fantastic product and still available. Their Rums are excellent too. For the individual searching for the 3rd Tennessee Whiskey, I understand Pritchard's will soon introduce their own Tennessee Whiskey.

Default The other TN Whiskey

It's Lem Motlow’s - made at JD until maybe as late as the 80s.

Different from JD - not just a new expression.

FYI: Dickel was made in KY for years... but still called a TN Whisky.

Pritchard's is distilled in KY, but bottled and labeled as TN.

Default Tnsourmash

Tennessee changed the law that limited the geographic area distillerys can locate a few years ago. There are a few new ones.

The Tennessee Distilling Company is producing Collier and McKeel Tennessee Whiskey in Nashville. It is not released yet.

Default Prichard's TN Whiskey

It does exist! The first TN whiskey to be produced in 60+ years! Just out about a month ago. May be hard to find in some areas, but TN whiskey is re-born!

Default Prichards' DOES have a new TN Whiskey

It's a new product from Prichards' and is not the same as the double barrell bourbon (which is made in KY). This is only TN's third whiskey to be produced in the state thanks to recent changes in the laws. It is now available in retail stores in TN...
Red Dog Wine & Spirits in Franklin, TN (www.reddogwineandspirits.com) carries it. The product is not yet on Prichards' website but it is out there, I promise!
