Default Highland Scotch Whiskey

Found a bottle of Glenlivet aged 12 years in a basement. Wondering if the quality of this unblended highland scotch whisky has changed over years (which could be 10 plus). Also, how would the value of this particular bottle of this scotch may have changed over this time period. The unopened bottle has a seal over it including a stamped number of I-549. Questions, comments, rude remarks all accepted.

There might be subtle changes throughout the years depending on just how long your bottle has been sitting around. Even the best sealed bottles can eventually allow air to seep in - which does have an effect on the contents. However, after mentioning that, it's likely your bottle of Glenlivet is just fine. It is still a 12 year old scotch - since the spirit no longer matures once taken from the cask. If you decide to drink it, open it up, nose the contents and decide from there. Most importantly, just enjoy
