Gooderham and Worts

Hi, I have a G and W 1832 commemorative decanter in the original box with an unbroken Canadian excise tape dated 1946. The little card inside the box (which is worn) says the whisky is a blend of "treasured reserves" that were from 10 to 35 years old at the time of bottling 66 years ago.

This decanter is part of my mother-in-law's estate, she has moved to a retirement home, and if this is a very collectible item I would like to generate some funds for her. If it is not very collectible, I'm happy to drink it. Any advice will be highly appreciated, thx- Dave

Well it sounds very exciting. It would be fine collectors item however can you please send me some or post some pictures so I can make a judgement as to possible value please.

I too have a decanter of Gooderham and Worts Whiskey and the seal on the bottle is marked 1951. It is unopened with the seal still on the bottle. Any thoughts of the value? Did you ever receive a reply in regard to your Gooderham and Worts whisky? I just enjoyed a small amount of the same with a good friend and it was exceptional. Knowing the contents were from 1946 was intriguing to say the least. Is the empty bottle iteslf worth anything?
