Default 1948 Unopened Bottle of Seagram’s VO

I found a sealed bottle of Seagram’s VO from 1948 while we were cleaning out my wife’s grandparents house. Is this worth any value? I’m not a collector so it really hold no value to me but if it could be worth something to a collector I would love to find it a good home. Is it worth it to go through the hassle of selling it or should I just open it up and try it out? Thanks for your help!

Default sell or to drink

Hello

Canadian Blended Whiskys were designed to taste the same. What I mean is a bottle from 1948 should taste the same as a bottle made yesturday. For a Seagrams VO you might get (on a good day) dbl the current face value. Or....... Take it out and enjoy it.

Cheers

Eric

Yes, this 1948 VO is special and does not taste like what we have today. Don't accept less than $100, but really you should get more. It is from the 1940's so was distilled at the Waterloo distillery. VO is now distilled at Valleyfield, has been for some years. Processes have changed since then and so has the flavour profile.

As long as the seals are intact you have a real gem.
