I have also found out from various sources related to the manufacturer of this bottle that it was bottled purely for the overseas market and was the last ever bottling of an Alfred Dunhill whisky. Do you have any suggestions on where I can sell this bottle for an overseas market as according to ebays policy we cannot sell the item out of the UK thesedays?
FS - try contacting McTear's - they have an upcoming auction on February 25th. (mctears.com) First, see about getting a value from them on what you have and then may want to have them put it up for auction (they get 15% commission). However, you will have to be the one responsible for shipping. So, I would contact your local postal service and ask them what their rules are for shipping alcohol overseas - although I have a feeling it depends on exactly where you want to ship. Also, you mentioned eBay won't allow you to list your item there. See what their rules are regarding "collectible containers". I do see scotch up for auction on eBay. Good luck - let me know how it goes.
