An Unusual Johnnie Walkers Find... Help Please
Hi
I am a family historian and love nothing better than to find old books which may aid my research, but this book is quite different from my others !
I have a foreign powers of attorney book dated 1909, and within this 1000 page ( thin as tissue paper !) ORIGINAL book there are many pages relating to the legal matters of Thomas Hood Walker, Alexander Walker and their secretary Joseph Macfarlane and others. The entire book is written in Spanish, signed by various parties including the Walkers, and i suppose something quite important happened in 1909 !
What interests me most is many of these legal doccuments have collections of Whisky labels attached, and i have no idea if they OR the legal paperwork and signatures have any value.
The labels range in age ( no idea how old) with the first being "Blended Old Highland Whisky. John Walker & Sons, Kilmarnock ( registered) Produce of Scotland. Cream colour label with gold crest and boarder". There are small labelks, large labels, exhibition labels, red labels , black labels, gold labels ect all dating before the legal paperwork was signed in 1909.
HELP , I have no idea what to do with this collection, i have only ever seen prices of labels on bottles!!
All help is much appreciated, Gemma x
