A piece of advice when asking others to help or evaluate a bottle...supply all information
that is printed on the label as it is difficult to read anything from the picture provided. Supply any numbers that are embossed into the glass and any information on the packaging. This bottle is a gordon & macphail bottling. Gordon & macphail has over the decades bottled thousands upon thousands of bottles of macallan. They have always carried large stocks of macallan and the company has over the decades had a wonderful relationship with macallan. The staff at gordon & macphail has been very helpful with my inquiries in the past. In fact, they were helpful in keeping me from buying a counterfeit vintage bottle. All it takes is a simple phone call and they will direct you as to what to do. If calling from the states, dial the number as i have it written: 011-44-1343-545111
. They most likely will not give you a valuation, but they can possibly help authenticate your bottle. Bonhams and mctears can help with that. You have a considerable amount of evaporation assuming the bottle cap / cork is still intact. Collectors will not pay top dollar for your bottle because of this. Gordon & macphail has bottled several different expressions of 1938 vintage over the decades ( i. E., different abv's and bottling year ). Start with Gordon & MacPhail. They are a good starting point. Good Luck.
