I got a bottle of Chivas Regal 12 the other day for $29.99. My mother likes it, so I keep a bottle around. I've had worse. Give one of the single malts a try. I think the Mcclellands are 5 years old. I suppose I would rather have the "youthful edginess" than an inexpensive blend with their harsh grain. Sometimes I prefer the younger version of single malts. Ie HP 12 > 18. Depends on the mood. Have you tried the McC or Glen Parker. Worst case scenario, he puts it into cocktails with a lot of ice.
