It is highly unlikely that it was
"privately distilled for the Nevis Estate" as Macallan pumped out thousands of bottles of 1980 18-Year-Old. It is possible that the Nevis Estate bought a cask of 1980 and then had it bottled with their label and the statement,
"privately distilled for the Nevis Estate", if printed on the label, is probably nothing but puffery which is common on scotch whisky labels for the purpose of selling the product. Bonham's or McTear's can valuate.
