Default Rare & Vintage Malts ~ Mortlach 22yr

greetings and salutations!

i'm getting down to the last bit of my 22yr Mortlach from the Rare Vintage Series and noticed last night as i was pouring a dram that what appears to be almost crystallized slivers, thin, have appeared...or they were always there on the bottom and i just never noticed. i was curious as to what they were, why, and if it is safe to drink the rest of said single-malt.

also, the cork was pretty much done when i uncapped/opened her top months ago so i have been keeping one of those wine stoppers on top if for nothing else then to prevent things from getting inside. the stopper is the kind that covers the top then folds over, spreading the knob inside and creating a pretty good air-tight seal.

i appreciate all feedback and if you got questions, pop em my way.
