Rather dark golden/amber color, the nose is creamy, woody, with a touch of cardboard and aged fruitcake. Alcohol is in the background.
Taste is full bodied, creamy, rich, smokey/peaty, aged fruit, sweet, hints of spiciness and toffee. Alcohol just a touch pronounced at first but mellows very well as I get acclimated.
This reminds me a bit of my Ardie 10/A'bunadh mix. A very easy whisky to sip.
Empty glass nose is that classic Ardbeg electrical short/phenolic but with a creamy background.
I'm going to follow this dram with some Corryvreckan.
The Corry is definitely hotter (alcohol), less rich/complex in comparison.
Ha ha, my new all time fav is the Bog.
Thanks Opelfruit for the recommendation.
