Interesting that no one has been able to narrow it down to a single dram, and I quite agree. My first thought of a response after reading the thread title was, "Usually, the one in my glass."
That being said, I can narrow my faves down to five - all locally available, reasonably priced and delightful (to me
) on both the nose and the palate. They are, in no particular order...

(Honourable Mention to Cragganmore 12)
I normally have two from this list open at any given time (Dalwhinnie and Dalmore at present).
Experienced whisky-philes might categorize all of these as core expression Speyside Sherry Bombs (although the Dalwhinnie is a Highlander). I make no apologies for my personal tastes, but do not look down on the peat-monster-addicted, sulphur-sensitive, anti-cold-filtering or deep-pocketed whose lists are quite different.
I have very much enjoyed reading the responses of other posters.
