The green bottle Ardbegs (10, Ug, Corry) are peat monsters. I think the best way to get acquainted with them, if you don't just take to them right off, is to blend the 10 with a softer whisky.
I'm sipping a 50/50 mix of Ardie 10 & HP 12 now and think it significantly better than the HP 12 alone (which I don't think I'll buy again) and although not better (or as good) as the Ardie 10 neat, a pleasant change of pace.
