He doesn't drink due to religion, I suggested to him that he keeps it quiet. We already have an agreement- I get all the scotch, another buddy gets the bourbon and another gets the wine.
On another note- I picked up a bottle of Bowmore 12
today. It's my first Islay and it's quite apt that it says "The First Islay Malt" on the box.
Holding a new, untried whisky in your paws...it's exciting isn't it? The anticipation. A first date, getting the keys to your new home or your new car...or for the ladies picking up your new Prada/Gucci/LV/Jimmy Choos.
It's still lunchtime here so I haven't tasted it yet but I couldn't resist to open it, to smell the perfume. Closed my eyes and smelt bbq charcoal firelighter(slight kerosene), before the meat starts cooking. Then a saltiness, not like seaside as many has described but to me more like the fish sauce(think anchovy) you put in your pho (vietnamese beef noodle soup). Very faint caramel then finishes with charcoal, again without the meat. Interesting....
Dammit.........I'm still at work
