Newbie with a question...
Hello All. I just made this name to ask a question I could not find an answer to.
I have been getting into single malts over the past year now and have grown to loving them. I always like to try new malts and have a few go-to's.
My question relates to tasting and picking up the individual notes. I watch vids and read reviews and the only time I can pick up individual flavors is when I read what's in it. How does one aquire such a keen sense? I personally feel that I have problems breathing through my nose and wonder if that effects my smell to the point that I'm not fully experiencing all the malts have to offer.
Don't get me wrong. I love what I do taste. Maybe I'm just not eloquent enough to convey what I'm tasting?
I watch vids from guys like Ralfy. And he just rattles off soo many words to describe what he's tasting. I don't know. It just doesn't hit me like that.
Anyone have any comments for me on this?
