They can take sheery very well, provided its dont right. You need to balance the salt and sweet/dryness, hard to do but when you pull it off it sings.
Corry has a large portion of french cask matued spirit in he mix, bordeaux wine barriques i think - not what you would expect Ardbeg to use. Its one of he longest and best finishes ive had.
Look at Ardbeg Day - that was put in ug casks so has sheery influence, and Ardbog with manzilla sherry. Both stunning.
I missed the boat on those you mentioned. I'm rather new to Islays but Corry is in my sights now.
