The MacAllan is delightful. A bit fuller-bodied and brighter than the Balvenie, and every bit as silky smooth. There is a tantalizing hint of tart apples under the malty caramel. Short, but nice bittersweet sherry finish with a hint of smoke.
I expected a full-blown sherry bomb, but it is very nicely balanced.
So many malts, so little time...
