I have a bit of a logistical question. In a few months I'll be backpacking again for about six weeks. I like a nip of Bushmills 10 yrs. around the campfire at night and plan to buy a new litre bottle at the airport. The problem is that the cork does not always seal sufficiently to prevent leaking should the bottle be on its side, upside down, etc., aside from the whiskey not being supposed to touch cork, yet I cannot guarantee that I'll manage to keep it upright. Any ideas?
Perhaps a bit of a stupid first question, but I'm really thinking about this one..
I've kept Laphroiag 10y in a flask for over 6 months (and running) and I can detect no changes in taste. Since I discovered this, I ordered 8 more flasks and now carry a whole range of flavors camping in a small, playmate type cooler that also houses my whisky glasses.
