Speculating on whisky as an investment is probably not a good idea unless you can afford to lose or drink your investment. Even seemingly investment grade OoP expressions like Port Ellen and Brora are highly speculative at this point. 1983 was the time to buy those. Buy whisky to drink. If it rises in value by chance, then you've got a great story to tell. That happened to me with the "rare malts" series back in the latter nineties/early oughts. Also, in the US anyway, whisky as an investment is very much illiquid.
