I'm no expert and am only guessing but I doubt that bottle
was an "official" JD release. The pour spout (as well as the
etched text and shortened neck) seems more along the lines
of a decanter. From what I gather JD went from cylindrical
bottles with embossed (raised) lettering to square (JD shape,
longer neck) bottles with embossed text to the JD shape
bottle with paper labels. There were some other types along
the way but I've not come across any etched bottles of this
type.
But that's not to say it wouldn't be desirable to a JD collector.
