Has anyone tried this limited bottling for 2011 yet? Big Laphroaig fan here, and curious to see how it stacks up to the Laph 10yr, 18yr, Quarter Cask, and Cask Strength.
Laph 18yr and 10 yr Cask...

ardbeg
[QUOTE=TheEtherMan;61850]That's the only Ardbeg that I like. I think the others that I've are too one dimensional. QUOTE]
I would agree with both the regular 10 yr and the Corryvrecken. But the...

Disclaimer upfront...islay fan here
interesting discussion, slightly sidetracked a few times by 1) esoteric arguments about whether Speyside warrants its own appellation (term slighty misused I know...), and 2) an adbot...

a month later... the Laphroaig cask strength has become my favorite Laphroaig. Extremely well rounded, crazy intense at every level, gives the ardbeg Uigeadail and Supernova a run for the money. I...

I haven't tried Lagavulin 12 yet, but if jwise thinks its like Uigeadail, I may have to give it a try. I love the Uig, and also the 2010 Supernova which is even bigger. Laphroiag Cask Strength is a...

U can't go wrong with Laphroaig 10 yr
Super strong and peaty, rich and smoky. $30 a bottle or so. Definitely the cheapest I've seen that gives the full authentic Islay experience. Good luck!

and as others have indicated, it splits the difference between the Laphroaig 10 and the Lagavulin 16 pretty nicely (price, smoothness, etc.). That said, I'm not yet convinced thats altogether a good...
