Agreed, Ardbeg 10 could give a "cigar lover" a similar and familar profile, but is a bit risky.

Shame they reformulated the Cigar malt, the old one was a much better whisky...

Head over to Benriach - they wood finish in just about every type and over various ages...

Cask strength has to be th le strength of the spirit once it leaves the cask, wih no furher alteration. Something like a talisker 57 north is not cask strength...

I dont know the ratio but Sauternes costs a lot to make (time and money wise) and is very bloody expenisve. The casks cost a lot too.

Ultimately, stick whisky in a run of the mill sherry or wine...

I know it's not overly glamourous but you could always decant it into a plastic bottle with a screw cap - you may look like a tramp but you'd have safe whisky...

Peatiness is smokey, but it's not just smoke. It's not smokey like woodsmoke or a bonfire (although some can be), it's more like the smoke you would get...

Basically; these are aged only in Oloroso sherry butts and are not chill filtered....

The Balvenie do a 17yr peated cask which is nice...
