Two Bottles From 40's and 50's
 

I discovered a couple bottles of scotch that my late grandfather never got to enjoy. I would drink them myself but I feel like they may be worth something. Also I'm not quite sure drinking 55-64 year old whiskey is good for my health.

I have a couple photos both bottles are unopened and all the labels are intact. It looks like they were tucked away in the back of the liquor cabinet left to sit for over half a century.

The Schenley O.F.C. is marked 1949, and the Corby's Very Light is marked 1949

If anyone has any information on these bottles I would surely appreciate any history, value, or whether or not they safe to drink.

I am no expert on blended Canadian whisky but I do not believe that these are very collectable
They may be from 1949 and 1957 but usually the attractiveness for whisky collectors is due to a combination of the fact that it is Scotch, the brand and the age (unless it is a pre-Prohibition or Prohibition US bottle)
Hence a Dewar’s from the late 1940s might be worth $125 or so. A single malt from the 1940s would be worth considerably more. However neither of these bottles are a collectable brand nor are they Scotch.
Am sure there are interested parties out there - be patient...but would not expect to get a whole lot for them. You might re-name the thread Corby/Schenley to draw people's attention to it

Thank you JoJo I'm here. Ok The 12 year old looks clear with about the correct amount of evap loss. The Corby VL also looks very good. Both were for the import market in the hay day where the blends were designed for the market. I have seen these but have never tried them. They are not on top of the collectors list however someone starting out might benefit from these as a starter.

As per price 30-40 per bottle on a good day would be the norm at retail maybe aliitle more at auction. As a picker of liquer I'd offer 40.00 plus the shipping for both.
