What were you drinking before your Bourbon "experiment"
and what is it about them that you didn't enjoy drinking
straight - too hot, spicy, strong, rough tasting?

Some folks mix with Ginger Ale. You could try adding a
bit of water or drinking on the rocks to help "soften the
blow." Most of those are mid to low shelfers and are
probably mainly consumed mixed with something. As
a bourbon drinker, perhaps the only one I'd bother with
is the WLW SR (and maybe the OF). The JD honey (and
any of the honey) bourbons aren't really targeted at whiskey
drinkers so little wonder you didn't like that.

Perhaps Bourbon isn't your bag. No shame there but if you
want to keep trying, good starter Bourbons you might want
to try are Maker's Mark or Buffalo Trace - maybe look for
little sample bottles. Another idea is visit a Bourbon drinking
friend and ask to try a few drinks. Might help prevent you
purchasing more full bottles you won't end up drinking.

Another thing to consider - some Bourbons use a rye recipe
and others a wheat recipe so if you find something you do
like, look for others in that "category". For example, the WLW
you bought is a "wheater" and probably tasted different from
the others (if you were able to tell a difference in the flavor
profiles.)

i never tried anything before whiskey lol,i dont really like how strong the taste is,or maybe its how rough it is?i'm not sure what the differene is.

i think the one i liked the best(or gagged the least) was wlw.

i already bought them so i figure i'll keep trying for a little while and see if i get used to it and start enjoying it if not then i'll try something different.

i read about the differences between rye and wheat whiskeys and thats when i bought of and wlw,i havent tried them together yet to see the difference.

if i can find a small bottle of makers mark or buffalo trace i'll get one.

i'll get ginger ale and try it.

thanks for the reply :)
