Need Help Dating an Old Black And White Bottle
Our neighbor gave us an old bottle of Buchanan's Black and White scotch (still sealed).
I am wondering how old it is, and can you tell if it was sold in the US or Britain? And is it at all valuable? I'd appreciate your help - I have no idea what we have here. PS - trying to find the "paperclip" to attach photos,... but don't see it here. Is it only available once the thread is posted? Will try to get the photos loaded |

When you post/reply on Whisky.com, and need to attach/upload photos, look
at the very bottom of the page for a button marked "Manage Attachments". Click this and wait for the new window to open, from there you can select & upload photos from your computer...Easy as 1-2-3 !!! These photos do not show up untill you "preview" or "submit" the posting! Cheers, Walter C Hurst wchurst@hotmail.com |

Black and White bottle
windswept11,
Your Black & White bottle appears to be a US/Canadian version, which is marked "Blended Scotch Whisky"; versus the UK version which would have been marked "Choice Old Scotch Whisky". From the markings on the labels, this was produced between 1955 and 1966. ***I suspect that this may have been made for the Canadian market, as the labels do not mention the US distributor (Fleishmann Distilling Co.) which had been shown on all Black & White bottles since 1936. Spot on Walter - this bottle dates from 1955 - 1960 :D
