Distillery Data for Map

I'm trying to make a map of Scotch Whisky distilleries that shows how far-flung the ingredients and process can be. So, I've looked everywhere I can think of for a set of data that would show a list of whiskies, along with all of its ingredients, where the ingredients are from, where the barrels are from, where the peat is from, where the whisky is bottled, etc. Does anyone know where I could find a data set like this?

Thanks in advance!

Short of getting direct from each distillary its not likely to be available to the general public.
I suspect that the history and source of their literally thousands of barrels[depending on the individual distillary's size] is also impossible to track down. :(

Even if all of this information is available to the public- you're talking about a huge undertaking! You can find a lot of information on each individual distillery website (and even check on the distillery pages here on Whisky.com). There are a lot of operational distilleries - close to a 100? - Not sure, but there are plenty. Good luck!

Thanks to both of you for your input. I might have to rethink my approach here.

Wallace - interesting what you're trying to do. What's it for? Keep us posted....

Hi Wallace, the ingedients are fairly easy as there is legally very little that goes into Scotch.

The bottling is a massive undertaking as bottles can be from one source, corks from another then there's lables, cases, cartons etc ... then the next bottling all the components could be from different suppliers.

A HUGE undertaking, but a great start is to purchase THE SCOTTISH WHISKY DISTILLERIES ( For the Whisky Enthusiast ) by Misako Udo. ISBN: 0-9550622-0-9. Ms. Udo has compiled a reference book that is respected for its obvious painstaking research and will be referenced for years and years to come.
