I am looking at a farm in Indiana,i am not concerned about the crops, but it would be a major help if yall has any knowledge on the startup costs for onsite distillation, specific government standards and fees

WIRED magazine ran a piece a few months back on this very topic.

You might find the FAQ at the TTB of some help as well. Check the
"Quick Links" along the right side for Regulations, Permits, Taxes, etc.

Note that I am not involved in any aspect of Distilling but offer the above
in response to your inquiry.

Several of the guys there have started legal commercial operations in the US and had step by step threads going through the whole process.
