Ye Whisky Of Ye Monks

Hello,
I have a ceramic bottle of YE WHISKY OF YE MONKS. A DELUXE SCOTS WHISKY. BLENDED.43ºG.L.75cls , still with the original wax seal, unopened, in Decanter bottle, bought in 1970's. Distilled by Donald Fisher Ltd., Edimburgh, Scotland. Perfects conditions.

Also I have a ceramic bottle of BELL´S. BLENDED SCOTCH WHISKY. SPECIALLY SELECTED. 20cls. It is bell-shaped.

¿Does anyone know for how much they might be sold to a collector? ¿How good is the Whisky? ¿Should I sell it, auction it or drink it? Help and comments appreciated.
Thank you in advance for the help.

Ston, please post photos of your bottles. We know we can have your bottle of Bell's dated, but not sure on the other, so post the photos which may help. As for value, contact either mctears.com or bonhams.com Whether or not you should drink it depends on you. After all these years and including how it's been stored will definitely have some impact on the taste. The worst culprit is air which can seep into even the best sealed bottles. I just had a 37 year Glen Garioch scotch which had probably been on a shelf for well over 20 years and it was still outstanding (several of us all in agreement). However, we also had different scotches that had been stored for the same amount of time that did not fare as well. Still good, but the taste had certainly changed a bit. You may want to see what type of a value you get first and then go from there. Please keep us posted on your findings regarding value.

ye whisky of ye monks

Hello Ston, I also have the same bottle of ye whisky of ye monks with the same description, only that mine is empty, I keep it as a souvenir of my late grandfather. I am not sure they are worth much, but I would like to have one that it is unopened if I can find one. Are interrested in selling yours? Let me know so we can arrange for something...

Donald Fisher was a subsidiary of United Distillers which is now Diageo so they may be able to help with the age of the bottle

Hi i purchased this bottle today it does not say ye monks whiskey though which is all i can find info on. Mine says ye whiskey of ye fishers and has alot of info on the front label. There is nothing stamped on the bottom but it does have a b imprinted in the clay. The back of the bottle reads federal law forbids sale or re use of this bottle then towards the bottom it says donald fisher ltd. Edinburgh scotlandit also has the tax label on the neck and from the others i have seen my bottle is in excellent shape. The tax label is red and says4/5 quart u.s. International revenue the bottom of the label says tax paid on the label in the middle in black it says seggerman slocum inc long island city,n.y. Then on the other part of the label on the other side of the neck it says 24016 id like to know if anyone can give me any info about this bottle at all. I think its neat i have pictures but im new to this so i dont know how to post them. Thanks for any info you might be able to give.

Ye Whiskey Ye Monks

I have an unopened bottle. Not sure how old it is since I can't seem to find the year anywhere on it but my parents said they bought it during their honeymoon in 1951. they were saving it for their 50th anniversary but my mom passed away a couple of months before it so my dad gave it to me as my wedding gift and asked me to wait until our 50th anniversary except we are now in the middle of a divorce......so now i don't what to do with it.........How much would it go for. It was stored in a closet at room temperature for the last 60 years.........

Drink it to celebrate your mom and pop, and to forget about your ex. Do so with a good friend. The whisky will allow for good conversation and new memories.

Donald Fisher & Edinburgh Ye Monks Whisky Bottle

We just finished reading all the messings pretaining to the empty Ye Monks Whisky Bottles. While sitting having our ladies night out and decided to check out the internet one of the ladies came out with old clocks, bottles, and pottery, and quest what we found ....history. An empty Donald Fisher & Edinburgh Ye Monks Whisky Bottle with the orginal seal. We're not sure of the age is there any one out there can us please do so your input is welcome.

The owner also have a tall brown whisky bottle that states " FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR RE-USE OF THIS BOTTLE" (on the front) D126 56-56 47 (I in a cr on the bottom) and on the side bottom states " ONE HALF GALLON

Whisky.com can have your bottle dated - but not valued. If you would like it dated, please upload photos - if you need help, let us know. For a value, as mentioned in a previous thread, please contact either www.mctears.com or www.bonhams.com - both companies specialize in valuations.

Whisky Jar

Hi,

I have a Ye Whisky of Ye Monks jar, it's empty and it doesn't have its cork.
I'm not sure what date it's from, the only thing I know about it is that it was found buried in an old colonial town house in Central America circa early 1960's. I find it odd that it was found buried in a house yet alone in the 60's, so I guess it has to be old.

I would really like to know what year is it from, could it be rare?

Thanks

I have one also: Mom in Florida,I do not know what it is worth, but it is quite old.

I have had a old bottle for quite some time, I have no idea, what to do either.
My scotch background, would lead me to try it, but my nursing background, says NO.
