Advice on old bottle of Canadian Club please
Hi all,
I wondered if anyone could give me a little bit of advice please : After visiting an aunt recently she gave me an opened bottle of Canadian Club. It has a plastic screw top and is about 2/3rds full (a litre bottle). The label says it is originally from Spain and must have been brought back into the UK with here from one of her holidays. Thing is, the customs seal is dated 1977 and I am guessing that the bottle was opened around that time and has sat in a cupboard for all of these years. Will it still be safe to drink? Many thanks in advance for any advice. |
Open Bottle
Ok. the excise stamp states 1977 but it would not be that old. As to quality? Well air in the bottle may give it an off taste. If it is cloudy or clumpy DONT drink it!!!! If its clear it could be ok. Your local nearby distillery have labs for quality control. If you know someone or perhaps it would be for good practice take it to them to test. I'd be interested in the results.
But when in doubt dont! I'd trust a sealed bottle anyday. If it turns out good let me know. |
