Fake johnnie walkers

Are there fake Johnnie Walkers out there and how will I know?
Where can i find out the statistical info on all these limited bottles made eg JW Deco , JW 1910 etc how many were made when etc

There are a number of counterfeit brands out there, the main ones faked are JW, Ballantines and Chivas. In some countries there is a price for every empty bottle that's collected and in 2 countries there are glass makers who will produce exact copies of the bottles. That's the reason Diageo, and Pernod are at the forefront of technology over the past 20 years to be able to detect these fake whiskies and report them to the police/trading standards..
The best safeguard is if it seems too good a price to be true it's most like suspect, remember the old adage "buyer beware"
