Age/Value of Highland Queen Grand 15?
http://i570.photobucket.com/albums/s...icture13-1.png
My grandad passed away recently and despite the fact he didn't drink, he had a great deal of Whiskey he had collected over the years that people had given to him either as Christmas presents, or in the case of the bottle I have, a gift from a company he worked for around 30 years ago. So I was wondering if anyone could help with in regards to finding out how old it actually is (the 30 years thing could be wrong, might have confused it with another bottle or something), and how much it might be worth. Thanks :). |
We will see if we can have this bottle dated for you. :)

If it helps Jojo MacDonald & Muir were a subsidiary of MacDonald Martin who are now owned by Glenmorangie. As to the brand, I remember this from the 80's so it could be that old

Grand 15
I also have a bottle of Grand 15 which I to found in my tee-total fathers drinks cupboard after his death 6 years ago. I have never bothered about it, but only last week I thought I might enquire as to its history , and this morning found your post quite by chance on Whisky.com.
On the top of the box it says 26 and two thirds fl.oz and 70% proof. Looking at your pictures it is the same bottle and box. Have you found any more information? Judith |
I also have a bottle of Highland Queen Grand 15. On the top of the box it says 26 and two thirds fl oz. 70% proof. My father died 6 years ago and he also did not drink. I would be very interested if anyone has any more information on this bottle or how much it is worth.

To date, the only information I was able to obtain was that in 1980, Macdonald & Muir renamed Highland Queen Grand 15 as Highland Queen Grand Reserve 15 Years Old Scotch Whisky. So, it would then appear your bottle dates from before 1980. For anyone looking for a value, try www.mctears.com or www.bonhams.com. Please keep us posted on your findings!

Hi,
Thank you for your interest in Highland Queen Scotch Whisky. Unfortunately, after enquiring, we haven't found anybody in the company that could tell us how old is your bottle. However our sales manager is going into the archives at the end of March and we will be able to tell you how old is your bottle, the history of Highland Queen Grand 15 and the value of the bottle. Best regards The Highland Queen Scotch Whisky Company Quote:

Thanks Highland Queen Scotch Whisky Company for chiming in here and for your help! :D
On another note, just an FYI...Glenmorangie sold the Highland Queen brand a few years ago to Picard Vins & Spiritueux. |
Hate to bump this thread after all this time (kinda forgot about it lol), but I've had zero luck so far on my own trying to find the value of my bottle, so I was wondering if anyone else might have had luck or might be able to help me now :).
