old saved whisky ?

hi, after a recent attic clearance we stumbled upon an unopened bottle of haig blended whisky, it seems to be approx. 30 years old.

1. is it worth anything ?
2. to anybody ?
3. is it drinkable ?
4. should it be decantered ( as per wine ) " to clean" ?

all help greatly appreciated. thanks.

p.s. also have home-made wine from 1950's ,
does anyone know the drinkability of this also ?

Haig Blended Scotch & Homemade Wine

The big questions are: How hot does your attic get in the summer? If it gets blistering hot like ours (seriously, ours gets well over 100 degrees!) - it doesn't look too good for you. Whisky should be kept in 'cellar like' temperatures, so if it was freezing cold in the winter and steamy hot in the summer - YIKES! Not good.

Other question....was it stored upright? It's not supposed to be in contact with the cork.

Can't help you with the wine - there are so many variables - what kinds of grapes were used, how was it made, etc. Was it exposed to extreme temps and was it sealed properly???? Open it up and smell - go from there!

Good luck!
