What should be the next tipple of choice
First of all I would like to say hello too my fellow Scotch Drinkers, I like to think of Scotch as 'The Gentlemans Quaff" or ladies, Scotch is by no means a male only drink :)
I am just coming to the end of my most recent bottle, a 18yr Old Glenlivet, a Speyside Malt. I have found this Whisky to be a little bit of heaven on earth. It is a smooth, syrupy tipple with a lasting finish, a treat for the experienced scotch drinker as well as a good beginners drink, due to the smoothness. Only last night I had a dram (or two) served in a Glencairn glass, which really does help the nose, and one cube of ice, I must have spent a good 5 minutes smelling the damn thing before my first sip. it really was the perfect way to relax after a hard stressfull day at work. Its the little things in life :o Anyway as I said I am coming to the end of this bottle now and would like some recommendations on another smooth whisky, I like a distillery with a little romance I guess, it makes the dram that little bit more personel when you can find out the makers story. I usually stay within the Speyside region but will welcome suggestions that take me out of my comfort zone. Thank you and Slainte |
Have you found your next bottle of heaven? If so, which is it? Here are some favorites...Macallan 18 yo - for more robust, yet delicious, try Macallan Cask Strength or Dalmore Gran Reserva. Their Cigar Malt was superb, but unfortunately no longer available.

The DALMORE GRAN RESERVA was formerly known as THE CIGAR MALT. |
