Chivas Brothers - Royal Salute

5 Attachment(s)
Hello,

I have a bottle of Chivas Brothers - Scottish Whisky - Royal Salute - i would greatly appreciate and information regarding history & valuation.

Please see the attached pics.

The bottle also has an interesting history... In around 1976 the bottle was a gift to my grandfather who at the time was the Lord Chief Justice of Malaysia. In 1976 he sent the bottle to London where it is still kept today.
I am assuming the bottle is at least 54 years old as the whisky was aged to 21 years when bottled.

Any thoughts ???

Many Thanks,
Jim

Chivas Brothers - Royal Salute

Your bottle was produced by Spode who made the flagons between 1959 and 1983. If the bottle was purchased in 1976, it is 33 years old - as you do not count the age of the whisky. Whisky.com does not do valuations, but just to let you know, today's retail value for a bottle of Royal Salute is £90 - £100. For a value, try contacting Bonhams.com or McTears.com Let us know!

With regards to valuation, of your bottle of Royal Salute was produce around 1970's double check who made a bottle itself. They used to be made by Wade and that would increase in value for another £50.00.

I know this is an old thread but I am still hoping that someone can help me date this bottle.

I had given this bottle to my father about 9 years ago after finding it in my father-In laws condo after he passed away. The bottle was in the bag but there was no box. This was just a bottle of scotch to me & I hadn't yet developed a taste for it. Over thanksgiving my father brought the bottle out & explained what it was. He had just recently learned that this was a bottle of Chivas 21 Royal Salute.

Now, I would like to figure out how old this bottle actually is. Is this bottle porcelain or the ceramic variety? You will also notice that there is no 21 embossed on the label either. I have seen pictures of other bottles from the 1976 range with the 21. Was there a time when the 21 didn't appear on the label?

The bottle is still unopened but unfortunately some of the scotch must have evaporated over the years because the bottle feels a little light.

Also if this bottle is rarer that the average bottle what is it worth?

Help with age...

I just came across this bottle of Royal Salute 21. I have some photos, but I just registered, so I don't think it's allowing me to post photos. Hopefully I'll get permission to in a few days and the photos will be up... Any help determining the age of the bottle is appreciated. The number that is repeated on a few stickers on the flagon is 2506001.

Evaporated unopened bottle?

Hi there,

I have an unopened bottle of Royal Salute 21, blue (Spode), I believe from the late 70's/early 80's, though possibly earlier, and it appears the entire bottle has evaporated. All the lingers is a hint of the scent :(. I have never heard of this happening before, but I am wondering if there is a way to get it replaced as I don't believe this *should* happen (though some evaporation is not unheard of, I recognize; it also still has the safety wrapper on it!).

Does anyone have experience with this?

I'd be happy to post photos if that is helpful, but figured I'm not looking to identify so much as get advice on how to reach out.

Thanks,

Scott

Please Help put a value and the rarity of this bottle of Chivas Royal Salute

I was given this bottle as a gift for helping someone and want to get some information on it. It is a 750ml. bottle of Chivas Royal Salute Dark Blue porcelain bottle with the name Wade on the bottom, and has tag over the cork: T483363. My friend said that when him and his brother were young they hit the bottle and the top of the cork snapped off and the rest of the cork is stuck in the neck. I just want to know how rare this bottle is, if possible the year of the bottle/whiskey and the dollar value. This is now the latest bottle in my collection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cheers. Will post photos soon. Im new here and have yet to be approved to post photos.

Hello, I was gifted few bottoms of Royal Salute, but the bottoms are different and made by Wade and Spode. How to estimate the vintage year and the present market value?
The sealed numbers are E706725(Spode), V509108(Wade), X786176(Wade). Appreciated if you could advise me the vintage year.
In addition, I`ve got one Chivas Regal Chairman Reserve II. I would like to know the vintage year too.
Thanks

I have just uploaded the photos for your reference. Looking for your professional advice.
Thanks
