Johnnnie Walker Swing
Can anyone tell me about the make-up of Johnnie Walker "Swing"?
What is the age of the whiskies in this blend? |
I can't tell you exactly what the makeup is, but I have had it once that I remember, and it struck me as a little younger, perhaps around the red label age. I was not a big fan considering the price point... as often you can find black label for the same price or cheaper in my experience.
If you really like it though, let me know, maybe I will have to give it another try! |
Johnnie Walker Swing
Originally created in 1932, Johnnie Walker Swing is a sophisticated and complex blend of up to 35 individual whiskies. To achieve the sweet depth and fragrant flavor characteristic of the marque, Swing blends an intricate balance of both mature and young whiskies. Some of Swing’s malts have aged for many years to gain the sweet, rich depth of their sherry casks, while other younger whiskies are used to achieve its signature light and aromatic notes. It’s this intricate blending of ages and flavors that consistently reproduces the original taste developed by Sir Alexander Walker, grandson of John Walker.

Thank you for your replies. Yes, it is very informative. I am still curious as to why Johnnie Walker does let mention the age of the whiskies involved; like the do with the Green Label?

Johnnie Walker Swing
Thanks again Jojo,
Your explanation gave me a new perspective; one that I had not entertained before. I can now understand the complexity of "Swing".....Now all I need to do is taste it! |
16 years blended whisky

swing age
never heard of a 16yo but there was a variant called "Swing Superior " at 18yo, aimed at Taiwan market

Swing is very delicious...I am not sure if this is widely known, and forgive me if this is trivial, but the reason for the rocking/swinging bottom is that it was designed for ocean liners. As the boat would sway...so would the bottle. Pretty cool marketing gimmick. Pretty great whisky.

Swing
It was created in the 1932 and has a convex base that causes it to rock back and forth when pushed. On ships, the action of the waves would cause the bottle to rock. In other Countries was called Celebrity
