Dunhillion - Alfred Dunhill
2 Attachment(s)
Greetings to the forum
I recently purchased a bottle of Dunhillion Alfred Dunhill - which looks extremely old, and is bottle number 1 of 2500. All I know about this bottle is that it was only ever available in private clubs - the whisky is 23 years old and is a blend of exceptionally old and rare whiskies. I was wondering if anyone knew anything more about this bottling i.e. when it was bottled, ever tasted it, what blends might be inside, heard of any selling at auction and any other information. Thanks in advance with kindest regards Findlay |
Tough call on this one. I'll see if I can get some info for you.

Dunhillion Alfred Dunhill
While hardly much information, this is what we have found to date....Dunhillion Alfred Dunhill has only ever been given as gifts to customers and not sold in the stores (which I see you likely already know). I know, not much here, but your inquiry is being forwarded to a few other departments in the Alfred dunhill Ltd company. Hopefully someone will be able to provide much more information. As soon as we hear something, we'll post!

Hi Jojo
Thanks for the time put into finding out this information for me, really appreciated :) I have also found out from various sources related to the manufacturer of this bottle that it was bottled purely for the overseas market and was the last ever bottling of an Alfred Dunhill whisky. Do you have any suggestions on where I can sell this bottle for an overseas market as according to ebays policy we cannot sell the item out of the UK thesedays? With thanks -FS |

I have two bottles. Unfortunately, they too state that they are bottle number 1 of 2500 on the label - a production mistake. Those dunhill customers who have received a free bottle are delighted with the contents! The bottle is between 5 and 10 years old. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3313/...c8c5bf10_m.jpg |
Hi lexington_spurs
Do you have any more information on these bottles? And did you get yours free or did you buy them? I am trying to figure out a reasonable price to expect for it when I sell it. Thanks -FS |
Hi
Unfortunately I can't be of more help as I received both bottles as gifts. The whisky was commissioned by dunhill more than 5 years ago, under a different management team to the current one. This probably explains why there is so little information about the actual contents! Anecdotally, it is supposed to be very highly regarded by the customers who used to frequent the Jermyn Street humidor, at the old flagship store. |

Hi,
I actually designed the packaging for this bottle and it's box in 2004. The Whisky was purchased by Dunhill from casks owned by the Edrington Group. The brief was a great one to work on as I got access to the Alfred Dunhill archive. The label on the bottle and box is representative of a tag or label you find in a jacket/leather/racing jacket – Dunhill's route's are in clothing for driving, back in the day when cars had no roofs as standard. g |
my brother works for dunhill, (making smoking pipes). and he got a bottle of this as a christmas gift last year, apparantly all of the factory workers did, as they where not allowed to sell it because of the mistake in production i.e. 1 of 2500.
