Plastic

I travel a lot. A lot. Airplanes constantly. With today's security, minimal liquids thru security and such, I am reluctant to carry a "real" bottle with me. Some airlines do have miniatures in glass bottles, most do not. So I am stuck with plastic bottles.

I can't taste any plastic, but it's got to have something to do with the chemical composition to have a malt in a plastic bottle for months.

Anyone have knowledge of this? Suggestions?

The plastic is called PET and has been used for the past 30 years and was extensively tested before it was used. I know that whisky that was filled in the late 1980's into PET miniatures was tested a few years ago and there was no difference in the flavour compared to the same whisky in stored in glass miniatures.
