Valuation

Hi,

I have a limited edition Macallan Matron's Millennium Malt, distilled in 1980, 18 year old which was privately distilled for the Nevis Estate (Sir Cameron Mackintosh) to mark the turning of the centuary. It comes in a presentation box, complete with 2 x etched tumblers. Does anyone have any idea of valuation or where I could get it valued?

Thanks.

It is highly unlikely that it was "privately distilled for the Nevis Estate" as Macallan pumped out thousands of bottles of 1980 18-Year-Old. It is possible that the Nevis Estate bought a cask of 1980 and then had it bottled with their label and the statement, "privately distilled for the Nevis Estate", if printed on the label, is probably nothing but puffery which is common on scotch whisky labels for the purpose of selling the product. Bonham's or McTear's can valuate.
