Vintage Jack Daniels vs. Johnny Walker ad poster

I own a Jack Daniels vs. Johnny Walker at Madison Square Garden ad poster. I've had it for twenty five years and it wasn't new when I acquired it. It measures 28''X41''. It is mounted on a wood-type material and it is printed on both sides. I've done research on the internet and can't find any information about it. I've thought about selling it but I don't know what the value of it is. If anyone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Hey there Denise! Is there a year noted anywhere on this advertisement?

Denise_Arberry 07-15-2010 04:44 AM

No, I wish there was a date, I'm sure if there was one it would be easier to find information on it. Wish I could help out, and thanks for trying to help me. Let me know if there's anything else you need, curiousity is killing me about this ad, I've never seen anything else like it.

Sure, no problem. Unfortunately, the archive department for Johnnie Walker did not have any info, but I can tell you they sure did get a laugh over it! We'll see if we can find out anything from other avenues.

Thank's, and I'm glad I could make someone smile, that make's my day!:D

Wauw, that is a cool ad poster. Must say that I have never seen one before.
If you really want to get rid of it PM me, maybe we can work something out.
To be honest, I really don't know the value of it. But I can ask around.

Take care, Edwin

Hi there Joanne, no problem at all .
I have started my investigation so lets see where this ends.
I love these kind of surprising items !

Raapio 08-10-2010 09:01 PM

Took some time. People I know also cannot help me out.
Cannot really give a value :(:(
looks like a "rare" item. So I would say..... what people are willing to pay

Denise_Arberry 08-18-2010 04:50 AM

Well, I wonder... what would you folks out there willing to pay, any offers?

Whisky Nose 09-10-2010 12:04 AM

At auction with a reserve, therein lies the problem, what to put as a reserve...
Nice poster though....;)

Finally, after almost a year :) I found some info. It actually has nothing to do with the brands Jack Daniels or Johnny Walker.
I would say this was a Professional Wrestling Match. The reason being this, there were 2 Wrestlers, one named Jack Daniels & the other was Johnny Walker. (coincidence ???)

Check these links.
What would you think about it.

Charlie

I just found the same poster folded in my folk's attic. Old but really nice condition. Was wondering if there was any news about collector interest or what the story is. Given the age of my parents, etc, I would guess it was from the 50's but only a comp, tee guess. The seal is on the bottom but no year anywhere... Just monday march 24.
